now I’m wondering what sort of social privileges and stigmas crows and other “species” have. I think I’ve been on tumblr too long, haha

I imagine crows and other corvids are mostly the middle class and upper middle class, while ravens are very upper class. Most other bird people are kind of scattered across society structures, some have it better thanks to connections, others face prejudice to varying degrees. For instance, there are a lot of corvid-owned places that ban certain kinds of birds from entering (like pigeons) and raptors in particular face heavy prejudice even if they keep themselves in check and act less predatory than in a non-city environment.

wow I am tired and can’t brain properly. basically wow I’m not painting a very pretty picture of my corvid people, am I. It just kinda happened to organize itself that way in my head, it’s interesting. BASICALLY, CROW CITY (also they have a great waste management system.)

somehow I imagine it’s common for raven women to have beards and they rarely shave them because being confused for a crow would be the worst insult one could get (yeah ravens are higher in the hierarchy than crows). So unless you have a particularly unmistakably aquiline nose or impressive stature, you’d be better off having a beard. (Morgan’s kinda special, tho. she’s probably one of the tallest raven people that exist.)

also I imagine some crow women wear fake beards to pretend to be ravens.

Q:I believe you said Marge's husband passed away? Was it disease or an accident of some kind? How long has Marge been a widow?

He got shot by hunters, people mostly paranoid of harpy eagles attacking their livestock.

Hmmm she might have been a widow for a few years, maybe a decade, I haven’t decided yet.

She’s also, however, considered looking for a new mate since she still wants to have kids and whatnot.

Q:When I saw your Peacock-person, all I could think of was "he's going to bash out someone's eye with the handle of that fan isn't he?" Peacocks are vicious birds. I don't know if Peahens are though compared to the males. I really like your interpretation of them! So many people seem to forget peahens... exist... pretty much.

YES that is super frustrating. Especially when I continuously see art of women adorned in peacock inspired clothing… Which wouldn’t be bad on its own but in some cases they’re depicted as REPRESENTING the peacock and artists refuse to draw a male with such garish patterns due to homophobic reasons or someshit.
