featherwurm replied to your post: That gif is definitely from Monkeybone, unfortunately a movie that had more promise than execution. Some good stuff with the surreal dreams and underworld (both for effects and for concepts), but a lot got lost in development and the final product just… isn’t very good in my opinion, sadly (worth a watch once if folk are interested in that sort of thing, but not really great).

Yeah it’s really a pitty, the comic it’s based on, Dark Town, is pretty good though. Unfortunatly ends on a cliffhanger and wasn’t continued though.

better look into this…

Aww, that’s unfortunate. Yeah. I really don’t remember much about it and I dunno if I really wanna watch it again just for visuals.

featherwurm answered your question: because I like asking questions

Dragons are great! Particlarly as they can be used in stories as an interesting contrast to mankind and it’s desires.

Ooh, this is an excellent point.

Q:I noticed you watched Fehérlófia recently, and are now using a still for an icon, out of curiosity what are your thoughts on the film? (I found it quite interesting, myself, particularly the visuals and iconography.)

featherwurm

Unfortunately I haven’t seen much of the translation (best I could go by was the film’s wikipedia entry) but I did enjoy the visuals immensely.

Also, I wouldn’t have thought of watching the film hadn’t I seen these gifs posted by Kanotynes.

featherwurm replied to your post: why didn’t I start watching Kuuchuu Buranko earlier

I think they are absolutely different aspects, though I think it gets clearer the further in you get. If you’ve not seen Mononoke by the same director you absolutely must! I like both but favor Mononoke.

oh, okiedoke! seen five (or six?) episodes so far.

DAMN everybody’s recommending that to me adasfdsg
